On Our Way To Quebec City!

Thursday, September 02, 2010

We'll be arriving tonight so hopefully I'll get to see this cityscape.

Seriously! How did the time go by SO fast?? From the time I wrote my last post til now, I have not had a moment to think or plan what we are going to be doing in Quebec City. No reservations made, no itinerary or anything created. Sad, no? In some ways it's a good thing - we can live out that saying, 'carpe diem' while we're there. Or it could be bad and go completely awry. Hopefully not awry but you guys get the gist. And okay, I sorta lied. I do have a few places that I would like to check out but they're what every tourist knows to do when they go to Quebec City so that doesn't really count, right?

I really wanted to research on the best places to go shopping for vintage housewares and such, but I didn't get to that so now I'm just praying that some lovely local will be willing to share information on the best places to shop for stuff like that. If you guys know of any places that you think I should check out, let me know. I'd be really grateful for any suggestions or advice while I'm out there.

With the places that I do know of to check out, I am really excited! I definitely want us to check out the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec - they've got a great exhibition of paintings during Queen Victoria's era. And the other place that is a must-see is La Citadelle de Quebec. It's perched right at a cliff and I just can't wait to see the surrounding structures too.

Don't worry though, I'm sure (knowing my shopaholic-self) that I will find lots of stores that I'll fall in love with and when I do, I will be sure to take pics and share them with you. I sort of did that when we went to NYC, although I really will be better about it this time, promise! We're bringing our good camera and even though I will look like the total dorky tourist, I don't care! I want some darn good pics to share and if it means bringing my big slr, so be it!

Wish us luck out there!
