How Do They Do It??

Design Maze

I'm talking about moms. How do you all do it?? I realize that this is not a new phenomenon but I gotta tell ya, I am in awe of any and all moms (working or stay-at-home) who have time to do the laundry, the dishes, run errands, and put a meal on the table at the end of the day, all while taking care of their child(ren). Of course it didn't help me that I started off pretty rough with having to get a c-section, but there was a period when I was really getting into the swing of things. Then bam! I get hit with food poisoning last month, and then this month I catch a cold. Somehow, I've managed to lose my momentum twice now, so have been feeling a bit down with trying to get back on top of things (i.e., writing for this blog amongst other things).

But there's nothing like a home project to get my mojo going. Steve doesn't really see eye-to-eye with my method of getting myself back on track (or at least getting myself motivated), but we'll just forget about what he thinks and keep a move on. Now, I can't really promise you all that this will actually happen (Steve is quite stubborn on this subject), but I will try my darndest to get him to change his mind.

I'm sure you've noticed the images with the lovely Chenoceau wallpaper by Schumacher in today's post. Well I've got my eye on it right now. It's got a hint of traditional with the birds & foliage, but the graphic quality of the charcoal & white keeps it modern. The powder room on our main living floor has been a room that I've always wanted to wallpaper, and I'm thinking that now is the time to do it. There's no particular reason why now is the time really, I just need to get my wallpaper fix on.

I will let you know how my progress of wearing Steve down on this subject goes, but in the meantime I've got two other side projects somewhat in the works. We're finally getting slipcovers made for our deck chairs (woohoo!) and I scored two lovely vanity stools at TJMaxx a few weeks ago that I'm thinking of reupholstering & painting so I can use them as stools for our entryway. I still need to choose the fabric that I want to reupholster them in, but it's definitely on my to-do list. I'll keep you all posted!
