Holiday Wish List: The Etsy Edition

My family members and I do this thing every year where we ask each other for a Christmas list so that we know what to get each other. I know it totally devoids the surprise factor in gift giving, but hey, at least you know you'll get something you like, right? That's our theory and it's worked really well every year. And every year I never have a problem coming up with a list of things that I'd love to find under the Christmas tree. But this year, I've had the hardest time coming up with my Christmas list. I've scoured so many websites and catalogs and magazines that you'd think I'd have at least one thing I'm dying to have. But nope. Not one single thing am I so totally and utterly in love with that I must have it. Strange, no? Well, my husband best put it to me the other day saying that it's a great situation to be in because it means that I have everything that I want. And when he said this to me, it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. He was right. Shh, don't tell him I said that or else he'll start quoting me. I do have everything that I want. I have a roof over my head, my health, my loving husband & family, and I have the most amazing and precious gift of all, my darling daughter. There really isn't anything else that I could ask for, but since I must come up with a Christmas list for my family (such a 1st world problem, right?), here are some things that definitely caught my eye on Etsy (gosh, I love that site!).

Gobble Gobble. I Mean, Happy Thanksgiving!

Doesn't this photo of a no-frills Thanksgiving table really define what the holiday is all about? An abundance of amazing food to enjoy with family and friends in celebration of what we're all thankful for.

Ever since Victoria was born (6 months ago, can you believe it?!), my family and I have felt blessed beyond words to have her in our lives. This year I am especially excited for Thanksgiving because this one will be her first. Now, I realize that she's just a tad too young to know what's going on, but my grandmother is flying in from Hawaii to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with us. So we'll have all 4 generations of women in our family all together at the same time this year! Can't wait for Thursday!

This might be one of my only posts this week (I'm working on an e-decorating project for a client, yippee! and it's turkey week), but I'll still be pinning on Pinterest and Instagram'ing (I finally joined!) so follow me! Thank you all so much for reading my blog - I am so grateful that you take interest in my ramblings on interiors and everything else in between. Holiday Wish Lists Are Here!

First up in the Holiday Wish List 2012 Series, the Stocking Stuffer edition! And yes, all of the items above are under $50! And yes, #6 is under $50, just as long as you don't purchase it with the frame. And I know, I know, you are asking yourself, 'how is #8 supposed to fit into a stocking?' Well, it's going to have to fit it in my stocking because I need hazelnut syrup in my life. I'm obsessed with hazelnut coffee, hazelnut lattes, all things hazelnut. But everything else on this list should fit in a stocking, wouldn't you agree? I'd love to find these items in mine...just saying.

Ode to Anthropologie

The other day, I went to my happy place. What I consider Disney World. Anthropologie, of course! I rarely go there because I literally want everything in that wonderful mecca of a store, but can't splurge (the guilt would get to me). But this time around, I was able to score a fabulous deal on the perfect dress for Thanksgiving. At $69.95, I couldn't pass up #7, could I? Before I snagged that incredible deal, I found a ton of other items that I wanted to take home. Unfortunately, that wasn't going to happen since Cora started fussing in the store and I didn't want to be that mom with the crying baby. So, sadly, we made our way out of there. On the bright side, it gave me the inspiration to write this post sharing a few items that I love from my favorite store.

And for the family members reading this post. Yes, you could consider this a wish list of sorts, hint hint. Which reminds me, more wish lists coming up soon!

Orange Makes Me Happy

I love Fall! It gets me in the mood for the holidays and the bright & punchy colors of Autumn (orange is one of my favs) make me so happy.

Oh boy, so much has happened in the past few weeks! Where do I begin to tell you all about it? I'll just go in chronological order so that I don't confuse myself or anyone else.

A few weeks ago, we visited our good friends John & Lindsey to meet their new baby girl, Emaline Rae Gualdoni. We had a wonderful time with them and we were so happy that Cora got to meet her new best friend. Then we had a nice long stay at Steve's dad's house out in Berryville, VA the following weekend. In that same weekend, I went to my sister-in-law's baby shower to celebrate her soon-to-be-here little girl. Yep, there is another Baby Johnston coming our way in early December!

Then who can forget Halloween?? Cora was obviously too little to trick-or-treat, but that didn't stop us from getting her into her costume for the neighborhood Halloween party. Here are a few shots of her in costume along with Emma.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner and Christmas on the horizon, I am in full holiday decorating mode. I'm still figuring out how to incorporate new decorating items in with the ones we currently have, so stay tuned to see how it all comes together!
