A New Project // Cora's Playroom Design Board

{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}

A few weeks ago, Cora and I had a playdate with one of my high school friends, Julia, and her daughter Chloe. We went to have a long overdue playdate, but Cora and I also went to meet Julia's newest addition to her family, her newborn son Mason. It was so wonderful to catch up with Jules and meet her children for the first time (her oldest is 4 so yep, it's been that long). Playdates are such a great excuse for us moms to meet up and have some grown-up time, no? Must remember to do more of these meet-ups.

Well, I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one having a ball. Cora was loving meeting an older gal pal (older by 4 months but that's a lot in the infant world), and I'm pretty sure she was in love with their playroom as much as I was. I mean, I kept saying to Jules how amazing her children's playroom was (I'm pretty sure I sounded like a broken record at the time). It was like a dream. Even I, an adult, wanted to play in that room. There was a swing, inside. Need I say more? There was plush carpeting, toys galore (I'm not even kidding about this), and even a little play table & chairs for kids to color. Oh yea, and a giant chalkboard wall. I told you it was a dream playroom.

Seeing Cora play in that space really made me feel guilty that she didn't have a space like that at home. And with her trying to walk all the time, it's only become harder for me to follow her around our second floor (hardwood flooring and not very child-friendly) without her getting into trouble. Sooo with all of that in mind, we've decided to convert our guest room (which maybe gets used 2-3 times a year) into a playroom for Cora. It's right next to her nursery and is the perfect size for her. I've got tons of ideas as to how we'll redecorate the space (too many ideas, in fact!), so you know I'm excited about this new project. I'm thinking of wallpapering one wall with that lovely C'est Magnifique wallpaper to add some Parisian whimsy to the space but without going overboard. And since you know I'll be bringing in lots of corals and pinks (I can't help myself), I figured that the paper airplanes beanbag will tone down the girly factor a bit. How adorable is the "Love is Life" canvas art from Birdaria? I'm really digging the hearts motif on it.

Honestly, I love all of the items above and I've got more to share. So come back tomorrow to see what other items I want to add to Cora's playroom!
