Weekend Recap // Cora's Trip To The National Zoo

Monday, September 23, 2013

Cora checking out the cheetahs.

Hope everyone's weekend was good. Ours was full of excitement at the zoo (on Sat) and major cooking and baking (on Sunday). Like I had mentioned last week, we went to the National Zoo with Steve's mom and brother's family to celebrate Steve's mom's birthday. It was a great way to have the two granddaughters enjoy a new & fun environment while spending some time with grandmom for her birthday. Although Cora was lacking her morning nap (will never let that happen again), she was well-behaved for the most part and enjoyed seeing all of the animals.

It was so amazing to experience Cora's wonderment of seeing these animals for the first time. She was so curious and excited about being somewhere new and seeing these strange creatures that she's never seen before. And even though there were moments when I really could've used a beer or margarita or something, it was all so wonderful knowing that she had a great time.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I cooked up a One Pot Chicken Risotto dish along with the season's first Apple Bundt Cake. Yea, you could say I was kind of in the mood to cook/bake yesterday. I'll have pictures and recipes for you guys tomorrow on both dishes, promise! So come back tomorrow for more! In the meantime, check out the photos I got of Cora at the zoo! I realize this post is all about Cora, but this post is dedicated to those always asking for more photos of Cora. Here you go!

If you're wondering, Cora is wearing a Gap peplum top & leggings and Clark sandals. And I'm wearing Old Navy shorts, Zara sandals, and a T.J.Maxx bag. I have no idea who makes the top that I'm wearing, because I can't make out the tag. And I cannot remember for the life of me where I got it from - sorry!

Her first carousel ride. She didn't like it at first but then realized how fun it was.

Daddy/daughter time.

A little catwalk action.

She was so excited to see the elephants and to stand up close like a big girl.

So happy to be out of her stroller to see the elephants with daddy.

She wasn't too impressed with the lions, but they weren't exactly putting on a show like the cheetahs.
