weekend-recap-3
At our neighborhood's first Fall Festival, complete with moon bounce, a petting zoo, BBQ from Red Hot & Blue, and great neighbors. She couldn't have been a happier little kid.

Hey guys! How was your weekend? Ours was rainy but so much fun! It was a packed weekend full of lots of 'firsts' for Cora, a wedding, and lots of shopping (well, not really but it felt like it to me!). Our neighborhood hosted a Fall Festival to get us all into the spirit of the upcoming holidays and it was such a great time, despite a little rain. It was really geared towards the kids because there was a moon bounce and a petting zoo! There was BBQ and lots of refreshments of the alcoholic variety to keep the adults happy, and everyone got to take home a pumpkin!

Then Steve and I got to attend a fabulous wedding at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. I had only been to the Corcoran once before, which was a very long time ago, so I was really excited about going back to it for a wedding. The gallery was stunning and the wedding even more so. I almost didn't make it because Cora was acting quite needy right before we left, but I am SO glad my parents urged me to go. A million thanks to them for watching a sick, teething toddler!

And what weekend (of mine at least) is complete without a little retail therapy? I've got upholstered headboards on the brain, and I know that HomeGoods is a great place to pick one up. I had no such luck yesterday, but am hopeful that one of these days I'll be able to take one home. So instead of me blabbing some more about shopping and all of the other fun stuff we did, take a look at the photos below!

Sorry for the blurry picture, but I had Cora in one arm and the iPhone in the other, all while kneeling down so she could pet the bunny. Something had to give, right?

weekend-recap-2
You can't tell by her face, but she was loving every minute of this. She was quacking like a little duckling when she first saw the ducks arrive.

She did not like the moon bounce. Crazy cause this is the kid who LOVES the trampoline at her gym class. Trampoline, moon bounce, same thing, right?

weekend-recap-5
The gorgeous Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC was the stunning venue for Saturday's wedding of our friends Delia and Isaac.

The coolest dance floor I've ever seen.

weekend-recap-6
Enjoying the evening being together, but feeing guilty that we left my parents with a sick, teething baby. Thank you mom and dad!!

I scored this faux snake-skin tray at HomeGoods for $16.99! That's like unheard of so you know I had to snatch it up!

This was a first for me seeing prop books at HomeGoods - hope it's not the last time because these were really fun and would make such a great accessory for a bookshelf or console table.

I nearly screamed out loud when I saw these Jonathan Adler goodies at HomeGoods. Had to Instagram all that goodness ;)

Sooo, I went into Pier 1 yesterday to see if this dresser (that I have been wanting so very badly) was on sale or not. Sometimes they have their floor samples on sale, so that's what I was hoping for, but sadly that was not the case. While I was there though, I saw this little beauty. Almost brought it home with me, but then I realized we have a ton of mugs (I'm such a hoarder) and could hear Steve's voice in my head saying no. So I had to pass, but I just had to share cause it's so cute.

I realize we haven't even hit Halloween yet, but retailers are already displaying Holiday decor and well, I kind of got into the spirit of it all. These little mini filled candles are so perfect as additions to any table setting. And at $2.50 a pop, they're an inexpensive way to add some mercury glass to the table.

  1. Your daughter, Cora is adorable! Our weekend was jammed packed as well. We also attended a fall festival and then did our family photo shoot for our Holiday cards. Thanks for sharing scenes from your weekend!
