I won't lie. I've been a little slacker with the blog lately. It's not my fault that Cora insists on waking up at 5:30am to get the day started. It's been killer for me and the hubby but mostly me, because I NEED sleep to function. I really don't know how I survived when Cora was a newborn. It must've been pure adrenaline at that point, but right now it's all about the lack of sleep and how dysfunctional I've been. And did I mention how needy Cora's been? She's like a little monkey on my back, or rather my hip because she will not let go of me. So, pretty much I'm attached to her when she's awake, leaving me with no chance to get any housework done until she naps. And that goes double for ze blog. Sorry for the venting session here. I've missed blogging so much, that it's kind of getting to me. Can you tell??

I'm sure you've seen a few of my Halloween decor additions to the house via Instagram. I didn't want to go overboard with the decorating, just wanted to add a few touches here and there without breaking the bank. And if I did add anything new, that it would be something I would want to use for years to come. So, I kept it pretty simple, just sneaking in a few ghoulish pieces here and there.

Check out the photos and let me know what you think! I'm still working on one last thing, so I'll share that as soon as it's done!

I snagged these Nate Berkus for Target candlesticks and knew they'd be perfect for almost year-round usage, but thought that with some black candles, it would give off the moody, Halloween vibe I'm going for.

The piano-top is pretty much the only place in our living/family room that has been somewhat forgotten, so when I saw this glittery, black skull candleholder at Marshalls, I knew it would be the perfect item for it. And I saw these wine labels by Martha Stewart at Michaels, and thought it would be cute to use it instead on a glass container holding candy corn.

You know I couldn't help myself when I saw this gold glittery skull at T.J.Maxx. I switched it out with the Zara ceramic jar that was originally there to add some spookiness to the bookcase.

This fun Broom sign was from last year and it is sitting pretty on top of our Threshold for Target gold side table in Steve's office.

The last Halloween decorating project left on my to-do list is the pumpkin situation. There are so many cool ways to decorate/carve pumpkins that it makes it quite difficult to decide what I want to do. So, this year I decided to spray paint them and so far so good. I've still got a few more pumpkins to spray paint, but as soon as that's done, I'll share with you guys what I've done. But in the meantime, here's one I worked on yesterday. I saw it on Pinterest and knew that I had to try it out!

Cora's like, "Come on mom! Let's go pick some pumpkins!" This past weekend, we took Cora to Larriland Farm (one of my favorite childhood places) to pick some extra pumpkins. We cheated and bought some earlier from Home Depot because they were cheap. But we wanted Cora to have the experience of picking out her own since she couldn't last year. And can I just say, this kid loooved every second of being at that farm. Who knew?!

We were able to find smaller pumpkins for her to carry. She was fascinated with them. I think she realized they were her size because she tried to pick up the big ones and couldn't, so I think it made her feel quite proud that she could pick up the baby ones.
