Happy Friday! Somehow this week blew by. Granted it was a short week, but even so I'm super happy that Friday is here because I didn't think it could get here fast enough. I guess this week went by pretty fast for me because I've been trying to finish up some projects around the house. Or rather finish one project and start a few more (haha). The one project being Cora's playroom. It's so close to being "done", but I've still got to find the right fabric for the cushions and put up the artwork for the gallery wall. Other than those items, it'll be finished and I can't wait to share with you all!

I also spent a good chunk of my time on adding new items to my shop. I had been meaning to add these beauties earlier, but the long weekend left me so tired that I kept putting it off. Until now! And I'll be adding more today and throughout the weekend.

And just some really random musings of mine:

- Saw this tote while perusing the Paper Source catalog and can't believe it's under $17! Would make the perfect beach tote!
- Another kind of tote that I'm crushing on and a bit more on the grown-up chic side.
- Now that Cora is getting a little better with handling grown-up things in our living room, I'm kind of wanting a bar cart for our living room. This blue cart is so affordable at under $300 and looks fabulous. Now, just to get Steve on board…
- We're heading to Hawaii in November and I can't help but start mentally packing for it. This coverup is calling to me.
- I got this candle last week and I swear to you that it is the best thing I've ever smelled. I wish they would make the scent into a perfume because I would buy it in boat loads. It's that good.
- The maxi dress you'd want to wear on a date.
- I want to host another fete just so I can use these platters.
- I'm a huge fan of Danielle Kroll's work (colorful, simple, has that graphic quality that I love) and her newest print, Ladies at the Beach, is an instant favorite of mine.

What a wonderful holiday weekend! I hope you all had a great time with family and friends, or just plain relaxing. We've had so much fun that it's been hard getting up this morning and getting back into our routine. I think Cora is also in withdrawal from all of the fun we had. She insisted on eating cake for breakfast. I don't blame her, I had some too!

There is just so much that happened and that I want to share with you that I'll let the photos do all the talking for me. But I will just give a quick run-down of the events in chronological order. Saturday we went to Steve's dad's house and spent the whole day there. Cora's Great Aunts and Uncle were also visiting and hadn't seen her since she was 3 months old (!!!), so we figured it was time they should see her again. Then on Sunday my best friend from Atlanta visited and so we went to the pool to relax and soak some sun. And then afterwards, we had our other good friends come up from Virginia so we could all get dinner together in downtown Annapolis. And then on Memorial Day, my family came over and we just chilled and went out for dinner (we were all too tired to cook). That pretty much sums it all up, so enjoy the photos!

A fun fact about my father-in-law's house is that the front foundation of it was hit by a canon ball during the Civil War and you can still see where it was patched up today.

We enjoyed our first visit to our pool. It turns out, Cora is a little water baby. Here she is in her new Strawberry cut-out bathing suit.

Sunday evening was perfect for dining al fresco on the water with our good friends from out of town.

We squeezed in a gardening session before our Memorial Day festivities. We're trying to add more color to both the front and back of the house, and flowers are an inexpensive way to do just that. I'll have more photos on this later!

What's better than a strawberry shortcake (a messy one at that!) for Memorial Day dessert. Not much else can beat that. Well, maybe with the exception of ice cream ;)

Happy Friday you guys! Do you have any plans for the long holiday weekend? We've got a jam-packed weekend full of family and friends from out of town and some pool time added in there. I'm really excited about the pool because we just joined this pool club and I've never been to it, but have heard from our neighbors that it's a great pool to join. I've only seen a few photos of it, okay more like one photo of it, but what really cinched the deal for us is that there's a tiki bar! Done and done is what Steve and I said. Not so much the fact that it's got a great kiddie pool area (that's not that important), but the tiki bar, folks. That's what sold us.

I hope your weekend is filled with lots of fun and sun! And if you need some retail therapy, stop by my shop to check out the new goods that I'll be adding this weekend. Here's a peek at one of the pieces that I'm dying to keep for myself, but will be adding to the shop.

Sorry for the delay on this post! I've just been taking it easy, trying to keep any and all headaches/migraines at bay. If you saw on my Instagram, then you know that I had an awful migraine that kept me from doing anything for most of Sunday. And yes, it hit me while I was at Lucketts. Of course it did. But I'm all better now and have gotten back into the groove of things at home.

Like I said, the migraine hit while we were at Lucketts, but that didn't stop me from doing some shopping and taking pics of some fab pieces that I knew you guys would appreciate. It's funny, at the time we were shopping, I had a list of things that I wanted to see if we could find (coffee table, artwork, ceramics, jewelry) and the stuff I took pictures of were not on the list. I couldn't help myself! I went on a Sunday and I know they say that the early bird gets the worm, but sometimes if you're late to the party, you can score better deals because dealers are trying to get rid of stuff before the market ends.

Even though this time around things were a little less abundant than the last time I went, I was still able to come out with some great pieces. Going through these photos made me realize that I really should've purchased some of these items even though it wasn't on the list. Like that rattan chair, I'm seriously kicking myself for not picking that up. Oh well, there's always next year, right?

My #ootd. I decided on wearing layers, comfy shoes (you better believe my Gap leopard printed flats are some of my comfiest shoes), and a cross body bag to free both hands. The top is from Zara and I am completely obsessed with it. It's light and somewhat sheer, but not so much that I have to wear a camisole with it which I hate having to do, so major bonus points for it since I don't have to wear one.

Such a cool Paris sign, no? We actually discussed if this sign would work in our house somewhere because it is just such a fun and cool sign, but in the end let it go.

TGIF! It's a rainy day here in Annapolis but it doesn't matter because the weekend is almost here! To start it off right, I wanted to share one of my outfits from my feature in Capital Style Magazine. It's funny, I try to wear color as much as I can and my thinking with that is well, I just love color. But also because I have dark (almost black) hair, I worry that wearing black (with my dark hair) just doesn't provide enough of a contrast to have the clothes stand out. It's a crazy notion... I have lots of those.

Well, I've come to realize that I love the combo black & white too much to let a silly thing like that notion get in my way of wearing what I love. And if there's cutouts involved, I'm definitely onboard to wear it.
