Ever since I became a contributor for Capital Style Magazine, I've been so fortunate to meet and work with local boutiques and entrepreneurs. It's always nice to talk shop with other business women and to see how we can help each other, especially since our businesses somehow complement one another. Well, two of the ladies that I've had the lovely pleasure of working with and becoming fast friends are Amy & Ellen of HERE.a pop-up shop. These ladies have built something so amazing for the community as well as the local creatives and artisans. They've created a temporary pop-up shop that happens every 8 weeks to "feature apparel, jewelry, accessories and home goods, concentrating on local designers as much as possible."
Every pop-up shop has been in a great space filled with fabulous finds and this September's pop-up is no different. I've stopped in twice now since they've opened (I can't seem to stay away, hehe), and always find something new that I want to take home for myself or to give to someone. This roundup features items from a handful of the designers that are showcased in the pop-up and also at their own retail stores. This weekend is supposed to be beautiful, so I highly recommend you stop in at their pop-up to check out all of the goods and to support these local designers and creatives. You won't regret it!

How was everyone's weekend? Ours was packed with lots of birthday fun, ranging from a Russian doll-themed children's birthday party to a grown-up party at a vineyard. We celebrated three birthdays this weekend and I have to just say, I love going to birthday parties. The cake, the decorations, and the socializing are exactly the kinds of things I want to do during the weekend.
Our first birthday party was held by Steve's friend and coworker, Liisa (and her family) for her younger daughter's 2nd birthday. Now, do you guys remember how ahhhmazing Liisa's first daughter's birthday party was just a few months back? Well, I was wondering how Liisa was going to live up to that last one, and she did not disappoint. Check out the photos below to see what I'm talking about. I mean, who thinks of a Russian doll themed birthday party? It's so original and so colorful and perfect for a little girl's birthday.
And as if that wasn't enough for us on Saturday, we headed to Great Frogs Vineyards to celebrate another friend's birthday. The weather could not have been more perfect if it had tried and it was the perfect place to have your toddler (or kid of any age) run around while you enjoy food and wine with friends. I couldn't help myself but to take some pics of Cora while she had some fun exploring the grapes.
To finish our weekend full of birthday fun, we celebrated Steve's mom's birthday on Sunday and ended it with the most amazing chocolate cake from The Fresh Market.
Hope you all had a great weekend! Happy Monday!

The duvet set that makes our bed look so good.
It's National Make Your Bed Week so I wanted to share with you guys a little secret about me that you might not know. I am border-line OCD when it comes to making the bed everyday. I don't know what it is, the whole room could be a total mess but as long as the bed is made, I'm okay. Crazy, right? I just get a sense of calm when the bed is made and because I stay at home almost everyday for my job (mom and small business owner), an unmade bed can't be ignored. So every morning, whether it's before or after I get my cup of coffee (an absolute must first thing in the morning), I make our bed. I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that any and every time I walk in our room throughout the day, I will feel good about seeing a well-made bed. And without our duvet set, it looks stunning every time I see it.
And I realize that it's already Tuesday, but I just wanted to share a few snaps from our fun-filled weekend. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

This makes me want to make a certain cake that I love so much!
You know us, we can't help but have an impromptu picnic to eat all of the food that we just got from the Farmer's Market.
Cora hadn't seen some of the amenities at my parents' new house, so here we are checking out the "sandy beach" by the lake.
Because my parents moved, they unearthed some amazing old finds such as this hanbok that I wore when I was about 4yrs. old. I can't wait for Cora to be able to wear it one of these days!
A small sneak peek at something I've been working on with Capital Style Magazine for their October issue. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know it's something good because I've been working with some of the local boutiques in Annapolis, such as Lilac Bijoux, Wrabyn, Brown Eyed Girl, Horse Boutique, and Hobo The Original. I seriously cannot wait to share more with you guys!

Sweater Knit Baby Blanket / Blake Raffia Square Coffee Table / Topanga Chair / Aubrey Shelf / Savile Coffee Table / Cole Brass Floor Lamp / Scalloped Hide Rug / Bamileke Stool / La Jolla Baskets / Parisian Side Table
One of my all time favorite home retailers, Serena & Lily, came out with their newest collection and I cannot stop gushing over it. So much so that I wanted to share my picks from their collection with you all. My absolute favorite item in this board is hands down the Savile Coffee Table. Is there anything more glamorous than that table? I mean, those brass legs. I swoon. And that Scalloped Hide Rug would be to die for in a dressing room or bedroom. Any favorites here that you see? Head on over to see more of their collection because it is just sooo good.

Madewell Indigo Linen Tunic Dress / Prada 54mm Cat Eye Sunglasses / Urban Expressions Crocodile Clutch (similar here & here) / Tahari Sandals (similar here & here) / Nordstrom Rack cuff (similar) / Julie Vos cuff similar
Happy Tuesday! I'm so excited to share this outfit with you guys! Ever since I saw this Madewell Indigo Linen Tunic Dress, I told myself that I had to have it. It's seriously the perfect dress for Fall. We don't have a Madewell in Annapolis anymore and the nearest one is about 45 minutes away, so I didn't get a chance to try it on before purchasing online, but I can tell you that it did not disappoint at all. Reading the reviews helped me decide what size I should get (I prefer it to be blouse-y and loose). And I knew it would go perfectly with this crocodile clutch from South Moon Under.
Even though it's only recently cooled down in temps for us, this dress is the perfect Summer-to-Fall transition dress. You can bet that when the weather gets too cold to wear open toe shoes, I'll be pairing this dress with booties. It's such an easy dress to wear, and can be worn in a multitude of ways, all with different accessories. I went the simple route with a few nods to Fall, but you could pair it with a tote for work (like this or this) and some chunky-heeled pumps, or go super casual with some flats (like this or this) and a cross body bag for running errands.
It may seem a tad pricey, but it's such a classic fabric and shape, that I know I'll get lots of use out of it for a long time. And it's a great dress for those of you who are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Not tight around the middle and has easy access for the latter.

It's Fashion Week in New York City and seeing what everyone is wearing is getting me really excited for the temps to get cooler. You wouldn't think it's September with it being in the upper 80s, but it's not stopping me from doing a little online shopping and sourcing everything that I want/need for Fall. Here's just a sampling of what I'm digging this season.
