Comfort and flattering looks are what I'm striving for ever since I gave birth a month ago (has it really been a month??). Especially after a c-section, comfort is absolutely key during the 6 weeks where I'm healing and recovering. But I noticed that a lot of my pre-pregnancy shorts/pants/skirts just weren't cutting it in terms of actually fitting my post-pregnancy body, nor were they flattering at all. Even though I'm thankful for the maternity bottoms that I have (so great post-pregnancy), I was starting to get a little bored with the rotation of clothes I had been wearing for the past month. So what's a girl to do when that happens? Get a little retail therapy in! Last week, I finally felt strong enough to go shopping by myself and the one place I knew I'd find comfortable, chic, and affordable clothes would be the Loft.

Now, I'll be honest. I'm not one to buy body conscious pencil skirts. In fact, I stay far away from them because I just feel self-conscious and it just stresses me out the entire time I wear it and no one wants to feel that way when wearing clothes. But, I knew from the moment I felt the material of this pencil skirt that it was going to be quite a different experience than wearing any other tight pencil skirt. The material is soft yet thick enough that it disguises any lumps/bumps/bulges. Pretty much what I need right now after having a baby because goodness knows the belly is a bit of a mess right now. And the swing shirt is perfectly blouse-y and flattering and I can see myself wearing it with lots of different jeans (skinny and flares) and skirts (mini and pencil skirts), so perfectly versatile.

I dressed both the skirt and swing shirt up a bit since I haven't gone out much and just really wanted to get a little fancy even just for a little bit. But you could easily wear the shirt and skirt with some flat sandals and a satchel for a casual look or these sneakers and a backpack purse for a more sporty look. Either way you dress it up or down, I'm thinking both the top and skirt are going to be in heavy rotation for this mama.
