Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend? Ours was literally jam-packed with lots of fun, starting with a pool day on Saturday and then a long-overdue date night. Then on Sunday we had a kids birthday party at a martial arts place nearby that was crazy fun for both girls. I had never been to a party like that before and it must've been fun for the kids, but undid years of parenting. Let me explain. They had the kids hit each other with swimming noodles for a good 10 minutes. Fun for kids because they get to do something that they've been told all their lives not to do - hit people! While all the children were having a blast going to town on each other with these noodles, Cora refused to participate. And while I was hoping for her to join in on the fun just so she could interact with other kids at the party, I was, in some ways, proud that she refused since she believed it wasn't right to hit other people or to get hit. I will say that it was in a space that was safe for kids, with a martial arts instructor, on a giant, padded mat. So if they're going to be hitting each other with noodles, it's the best place to do it. But I could tell some parents were like, "omg, how am I going to undo what they just told my kid to do??" Anywho, Vivi also had fun because she got to crawl/walk on padded mats and watch the big kids there. If you follow me on Snapchat (username: properhunt), then you know how it went down.
