Anytime I go in Banana Republic, I'm always surprised at the number of things I want to take home. I went in there the other day just to check out their new arrivals, I had received an email and a mailer letting me know that they had a new style ambassador, Olivia Palermo. Well, anything that girl does touches to gold so I wanted to check out her Fall Faves in person. While a lot of the things are great, I don't have much of a reason to wear it because it's mostly perfect for someone who has a 9-5 job. But there were some really cute things that I've added to my shopping cart such as this bag and tie bow blouse.
No stop at a retail store is complete without a visit to the sale section, at least for me. And so glad I did because I picked up two tops (puff sleeve tee & this featured striped wrap top) that I have been wearing non-stop. Here, I styled the striped wrap top for warm weather because it's still warm here even though we're in the later half of September. I'll be sure to style it for cooler weather real soon so you can see how versatile this piece is. I was initially worried that this top would be too business-like for me to wear, but it actually goes great with a pair of denim shorts & skirts, skinnies, black pants, and the matching skirt (which looks great, I tried it out when I was there). I can see myself wearing it with a camel blazer and some jeans & heels too.
I wore this look to Cora's fashion show this past weekend and it was the perfect look of cool (it was another hot & humid day) and casual yet somehow put together for a local kids fashion show.
