A Special Weekend Recap

Monday, January 09, 2017

Here we are at St. Anne's in downtown Annapolis with the girls and the banners we made the day before just for them.

Happy Monday! What a weekend! Our girls both got baptized yesterday! Even though we were a bit tardy with it, it was so nice to have them take part in it together. Made it that much more special to see them both getting baptized at the same time and to celebrate them both. We kept the celebration really small, but there was no short of a great time being had. And proof being I barely have any photos because I was having too much fun!

To keep it really easy for us, we had food catered from Lebanese Taverna (so good!) and ordered a cake from Giant (also good!). Anything to make hosting an event easy I am all for and having food catered instead of making everything is a total lifesaver!

Did you guys watch the Golden Globes award show last night? We watched until around 10pm and called it a night. We were both so tired from the weekend that we were falling asleep watching it! Crazy, I know but I was able to catch some of the red carpet footage beforehand and saw some of the great fashion that was happening. I have to say that I was so impressed with what everyone wore. I was sure it was going to be a bit of a disappointment since last year's awards season kind of left me feeling meh about the fashion choices. Last night though, was different! People really brought their A-game and it left me feeling so excited for the rest of the awards shows to come.

The 12 below were my absolute favorite from what I saw last night. Some were major surprises like Kristen Bell for example. I haven't been in love with her choices in the past, but last night she brought out the big guns and I was like, I am all on board with that gown! Another standout who I normally don't have on my list is Mandy Moore, but that flowy dress she wore with that neckline was an absolute winner. Clearly the dramatic plunging necklines were a big trend, as were pops of color, sparkly embellishments, and lace-y fabrics. Does Zoe Saldana's dress remind anyone else of Cinderella's dress that the mice made for her? In the animated one from back in the day, I mean. I still love it, but it instantly reminded me of that.

Can you guess which was my #1? I'll give you a hint. She looked like a fairy-tale princess. It was an absolute dream!
