Rent The Runway For Vacay

Mara Hoffman Colorblock Tie Midi Dress

We're back from our vacay and let me just say it was without a doubt one of the best vacations we've ever gone on. The rental house was beyond perfect, the community we were in was so beautiful and so accessible to get around, and everywhere around us was picture-perfect. The beach and pool were so fun for the girls, as well as riding bikes everywhere. We loved it so much we are trying to plan a trip back in October or November. The whole 30a area in Florida is a magical place and is just so, so beautiful. I cannot stress that enough! I'm actually working on a recap post from our trip, so keep a look out for that coming real soon.

In the meantime, I couldn't wait to share with you guys two things. The first being this gorgeous, fun, colorful dress that I immediately fell in love with it the moment I saw it online. It's everything a dress should be for Spring and Summer, don't you think? The second being the site where I was able to rent it for our vacation. I'm sure a lot of you know Rent The Runway already. But for those of you that don't, it's a great online source to rent dresses, other pieces of clothing (tops, skirts, etc.), and accessories (handbags, jewelry, & sunglasses). You rent it for either a 4-day or 6-day period, everything comes packaged nicely, and is made easy for you to return your items, you just need to take it to a UPS drop box or store. The other thing about RTR that I love are the reviews. It helps me out so much when I read the many reviews and see photos of how the item(s) look on other women. Makes deciding what I should rent that much easier cause let me tell you, trying to pick just 1 or 2 items out of the 200,000+ pieces they have is not an easy feat.

I had never rented anything from them before, mostly because I have no where to go so I didn't think to use them. But with this trip, I wanted to have a few dresses that were a little more special then the other pieces I was bringing. I also didn't want to break the bank, so I thought why not rent instead of buying. Not everyone wants to spend $300+ on a dress they might only wear a few times, right?

Well, Rent The Runway came to the rescue and sent me two dresses for our trip. I love both of them, but sadly one of the ones I rented just didn't fit right. Let's just say I would've been flashing everyone my tatas (or lack there of) in it. BUT, this fun Mara Hoffman Colorblock Tie Midi Dress was perfect and I honestly didn't want to send it back. It's SO perfect for Summer and was incredibly easy to wear. When I say easy to wear, I mean I wasn't futzing with any part of it, nor was I worried about panty-lines showing or about any muffin tops making themselves known. The fabric is thick enough that it hides a multitude of sins but isn't so thick that you're dying of heat in it. It's breezy, so feminine, and sexy with the tie top. And the midi length allows me to run after my kids without any worry of being inappropriate, so pretty much a great dress for either day or night. You could easily turn this look into a night look with some strappy heels and a clutch.

Check out the photos that we took in the neighborhood that we were staying in. Bet you'll want to head to Seacrest Beach after seeing this! I know it certainly makes me want to go back!
