The Only Blue Dress You'll Need For Summer

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Happy Wednesday friends! Don't you just love a shorter work week? Gotta love those 3-day weekends, right? We had such a great weekend with the kiddos and our families. Cora had a random fever on Saturday so we couldn't do much that day as a family, but she was right as rain on Sunday so we were able to go bike riding and have a picnic at Quiet Waters Park. We had originally planned on doing that on Saturday, but between the rain and Cora not feeling so well, we decided to postpone for the next day. It all worked out perfectly because the weather on Sunday was great for both activities and we just had the best time with the girls.

Then on Monday, Vivi and I had a wonderful time at Caitlin's for a Bagels & Babes Brunch at her place. It was so good for the soul to spend time with other mamas and talk about life and what's happening with our kids. Being able to share and give/take advice was so comforting and makes me think I really need to do that more often. I usually shy away from doing things with other mamas and our kids because I never know how my kids will behave which gets me really anxious about how I will handle things. Any of you other mamas feel the same way? Well, after the brunch and meeting up with Caitlin yesterday for a shoot with our girls, I'm slowly starting to have it sink in that it's okay for things not to go so well. It's never going to be perfect when it comes to kids and really, I just need to go with the flow. I think I'm still going to get a little anxious whenever those opportunities occur, but at least I'll have a different mentality about it all.

Anyways, let's get to this perfectly Summery look! I cannot believe it's taken me this long to share this look from our vacation. It is honestly one of my favorite dresses ever. It's a color that I don't wear often at all and I have to say, it is such an uplifting color to wear. The smocked top, ruffles and the statement sleeves make it so fun, and the length is spot on. It's long enough that I don't feel worried if I'm chasing after the girls, but short enough that it's not too cumbersome.

The dress also comes in other color ways which I'm so tempted to get. It is comfortable and stays up, I didn't have to futz with it at all. I'm thinking this is going to be a go-to summer dress for the beach and pool. What do you guys think?
