Belted Cardigans

Tuesday, February 19, 2019

Spring takes a while to appear here in Maryland, like I'm talking she won't make an appearance until late April and into May. It's usually around there when we can start shedding the sweaters and boots and switch into Spring clothes. Very slowly of course. Don't want to jinx it until we're sure Spring is here to stay. I mean we had snow last April, how crazy is that?

Anyways, I'm still looking for sweaters now because we've got two more months of cold before I can actually wear Spring clothes. Don't get me wrong, I'm eager to buy Spring clothes but there's no point until it starts getting warmer around here. Which makes me want to find sweaters that are a little different than the typical pullover sweaters I keep buying.

I spotted this belted cardigan at Nordstrom Rack and I loved it for multiple reasons. First, the color is a wonderful emerald green that just the color alone I couldn't pass it up. Second, it's so soft and chunky, I knew it would keep me warm really well. And last but certainly not least, I loved that it was belted. I mentioned this in my Instagram post but I normally don't like wearing anything with belts. It makes me feel claustrophic, almost like I can't breathe. It's weird, I know but I'm trying to get out of that mindset and wear them more often. With this sweater, the belt part isn't so constricting and I love that it gives the illusion that I have a waist.

I dressed it up a bit in this look, but you could easily make it more casual with either sneakers, loafers, or booties. You can bet I'll also be wearing this cardigan with turtlenecks underneath and with skirts too. Is the belted cardigan a look that you guys would wear?
