What a busy week I've had! It's been non-stop work, work, work and I haven't had a moment to write to you all until now. My day job's been kicking my butt and I'm sorry to say that it will continue to kick my butt until March 6th. We're updating our websites that weekend so until then, I'm afraid I won't be writing as frequently as I'd like. BUT, I'm so glad I can finally show you all what the pelmet box looks like!
I'm really happy with it, but the minute we put it up, I realized how much I really dislike the wall color. It doesn't do the pelmet box any justice and honestly, it doesn't really do justice for anything in the room (hence, why I showed only 1 photo of the room). And I know I said that I was going to challenge myself to stick with the wall color, but it's just not going to happen. I dislike it too much to stick with it! I'm in the midst of picking out a new color but until then, this home office is going to take some time until I can show you guys the final result.
Have a great weekend!

My husband and I will be putting this up later today, but I couldn't resist showing you guys what we've done so far! Don't worry, I'll be posting as soon as we get it up on the window. What do you guys think??

Pink Lemonade Design
I hope you all are spending time with your loved ones today or at least showing them how much you care for them. I realize that Valentine's Day may seem like a Hallmark kind of holiday, but when it's a holiday about showing your loved ones how much you care? Than I think it's a pretty legitimate holiday. Too bad we can't have the day off to really enjoy it. If we did, I'd spend it all day in these lovely pink rooms and cozy up with my husband and pup, Emma.

I'm finally working on the pelmet box for my home office tonight and I am so excited that I finally have the time! The home office has really been on the forefront of my priority list (I picked up a few things at HomeGoods - post to come!) and one of the things left to do is to add some artwork.
We painted the walls in this really light, neutral color ("Papaya" by Benjamin Moore) and although I regret choosing it, I am not about to paint the room all over again. I've actually challenged myself to stick with the color because I really think I can create a space that is fabulous even though the wall color wasn't what I originally had in mind by adding colorful artwork.
Anyways, I've got a lot of artwork and framed photos that I am just dying to put up but there are a few more pieces I wouldn't mind adding to the mix. And that leads me to Annechovie on Etsy. I can't get over Anne's gorgeous prints and paintings. I love all of her works, but I have to say that these ones (above and below) are the ones I've favorited and am thinking of purchasing for the office. What do you guys think?

The 2011 Pantone Color of the Year is Honeysuckle. It's this vibrant, deep pink that exudes confidence and vitality and I think it is a great choice for 2011. A color that will get us excited for every day is the kind of color I want to be surrounded by in this new year. Plus, you can't go wrong with the name "Honeysuckle" since it evokes thoughts of warm, carefree summer nights with the sweet smells of the Honeysuckle flower. Ahh, just makes me wish for the summer.
Not all of the items above are in Honeysuckle, but honestly I think we could all use a little pink no matter what shade, don't you?

Embroidered Dot Bedding $29.50 - $199.50
What a wonderful weekend! I'm still on my high from having a really great time with friends and family, and to top it all off the sun actually woke me up this morning. Sunshine is always welcomed, especially on Mondays. Even though I usually have a Case of the Mondays, today is not one of those days. I'm in a good mood and I think I have this past weekend to thank for it.
One of my closest friends, who also happens to be the writer of Summer of Dubs, stayed over Saturday night and I was so glad she was able to! She had recently written a post on Lands' End and I wanted to talk shop with her over my new-found appreciation for their products. Not only do I have a new fashion retailer to shop at, but also a home interiors retailer to boot. Their fashion is like an affordable J.Crew, and their home products translate to just that.
I'm thinking I might need to get one of these rugs for my office...

High Gloss Magazine premiered today and what a great premier issue it is. I had been anxiously waiting to see what goodies they would be featuring and I've gotta say, they did not disappoint at all! The Editor-in-Chief, Paloma Contreras, who also happens to be the writer of La Dolce Vita, is someone I absolutely admire. She started her blog in the summer of 2007 as a way to share her musings, and now she's got this amazing high style magazine. Go check it out, you'll become an instant fan!

Heart-Shaped Tea Bag
An easy DIY project for your darling.
Are you ready for Valentine's Day? It's going to be here before you know it and if you're not prepared, then you better prepare yourself to be poopoo'ed by your loved one(s). Unless of course you've done your homework and already got them a gift. I'm not one to go all hog-wild with Valentine's Day, but I think it's really great that we have one day dedicated to showing our loved ones how we feel about them.
To help my husband (and anyone else who wants to show their love for me...ahem, Mom), I've gathered this seemingly random collection of items that I would love to receive on Valentine's Day. I say seemingly random only because to some people the practical items may not exactly seem that exciting, but trust me, to me they are. Yes, I find wallpaper and an office chair very exciting.
Life Love Book for $14.95
This will definitely add that pop of color your coffee table needs.
Red Dots Gift Box $5.00 - 11.50
Please Don't Leave Rug for $18.00
I love this. It gets right to the point.
Just Being Audrey for $16.99
Many Splendored Vintage Paper for $1.25
Malibu Mid Back Office Chair for $149.00
The home office really needs this. Really.
Chandelier Poster for $15.00
You can get it in different colors!
Bee Wallpaper for $59.00
Alternative uses for this wallpaper: as a drawer liner or lining the back wall of a bookshelf/china cabinet.
Better than a Boyfriend Soap for $9.95
One of my favorite color combinations.
