Baby #2 coming June 2015!!!

Sooo, if the news wasn't obvious enough, we're having another baby next year! First of all, I need to apologize for being so MIA these past couple of weeks. I have a really good reason though. The week before Christmas, Cora and Steve caught a cold which I somehow managed to escape. But then about two days before Christmas, it came back with a vengeance after me. So needless to say, I had been somewhat miserable since then and haven't had the heart or energy to attempt to get on the computer. Cold's are nasty little things, aren't they? They're truly the gift that keeps giving because they just never want to leave or if they do, they attack your loved ones. But not to worry, I'm on the mend if not slightly congested, and am feeling much better than just a few days ago.

And yes, we are having another baby in June of 2015! This time it was planned (Cora was a big surprise) and we are so excited and happy and scared all at the same time. I've heard from parents of multiple children that having the second one is easier than having the first since you kind of know what you're doing or what to expect. As much as we are excited about having another little one and seeing how amazing Cora will be as a big sister, I'm a bit scared as to 1) how will my heart expand to love another little being as much as I love Cora, and 2) my patience level. I'm not at all the most patient person, especially when it comes to child-rearing, just ask Steve. So, I'm a tad worried at how I'll be handling two kids, this blog, my Etsy shop, my responsibilities at Capital Style, and the house and all that it entails. Kind of freaks me out just writing it all out, but yes that's why I'm a bit scared. Definitely more excited and happy, but scared too. If you have any words of wisdom, please pass it along! Any and all advice is welcome.

So much has happened since I last posted that I hope this recap has you feeling like you're caught up. I know I'm really keeping "it real" with what I've written above. I usually keep things lighthearted here, but I really wanted to share what's been going on in my crazy head and why I've been away from the blog and not Instagram'ing as much as I normally do. I'm hopeful that once I'm fully recovered from this cold and we get back to a normal routine around here (we'll be out of town this weekend for our last Christmas celebration at Steve's dad's house, so after that), I'll be back at it with the blog and Instagram (gee golly do I love Instagram).

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!

Remember a while back I shared an amazing Apple Bundt Cake recipe? Well, I finally got to make it this year and it made me question why it took me so long to make again. It truly is one of my favorite cakes in the world, like ever.

Had to entice her with apple slices so that she wouldn't eat all of our decorations for the gingerbread house.

I had been eye'ing the Bridge City Blooms Pillow ever since it came out and I was lucky enough to get it for Christmas. It works perfectly with the Navy Spotted Pillow and my HomeGoods pillow, don't you think?
