And this is why I love Craigslist. At $80, this is probably one of the best Craigslist finds of mine.

TGIF! We've been making some slow progress around here with updating the house before Baby #2 arrives. Like I mentioned a few days ago, we picked up an Art Deco dresser through Craigslist and I am absolutely in love with it. I knew the minute I saw it, it was the one for Cora's big girl room. It needs a new coat of paint but other than that, it's perfect and I can't wait to fill it up with her clothes and style it in her room. Fingers crossed we'll have it in her room by the end of this weekend.

Another space that's been in need of a refresh is our entryway. Because we're an interior town home, there is no natural light source in our entryway. It drives me crazy to no end, but what can you do? I really loved the pieces we had in there (the black Nate Berkus lamps, upholstered console table, and the stools), but it just made the space too dark. Plus, I wasn't really into the wall color but we left that alone since originally the entryway was one big room along with my husband's office space. A little over a year ago, we had a wall and french doors put in so that he would have his own office space, but didn't repaint either rooms. Now, we're both itching to repaint both spaces and figure now is a good a time as any. Scroll down to see a 'Before' shot of what was in there and to see what it looks like now. We just need to repaint the space and put the rug down as soon as it gets here. But so far we are loving the functionality and aesthetic of the room.

The details on this dresser completely sold me. I've never seen anything like it before.

There are hidden casters underneath!

A 'Before' of the entryway.

It's getting lighter and brighter which is our end goal. Now we just gotta paint!

We're also thinking of getting a new front door that has windows at the top so that we get some natural light down there. We just need to run it by the HOA and get it approved. Wish us luck!

Another piece we added to the space is this storage bench. We don't wear shoes in the house just to make it easier to keep clean but what ends up happening is the shoes just pile up right by the front door and it drives us crazy to see the clutter. The hubby figured that we could house the shoes underneath and inside the storage bench and so far it's worked out great. I'll be adding some pillows on top, just need to find the right ones.

Just waiting on this beauty to add to the entryway. Since we're keeping everything either white or a very pale gray, we're thinking the pop of pink on the floor will be the perfect amount of color needed in the entryway.

Wish us luck with updating these spaces! Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. I LOVE the storage bench. I'm the worst about letting things pile up by the door and in our tiny apt it gets to be a big problem. This could be a perfect solution!
