Weekend Recap // False Alarms, Artwork, Day Dates, & the ShopMonday, June 08, 2015
The newest piece of art for the dining room. Well, really the only piece of artwork in the dining room. Found it for a steal at Homegoods, framed and all, for $50!
What a weekend! Mine started out on Friday with a happy hour date with the hubby. We ate a ton of food and enjoyed dining al fresco before picking up Cora from daycare. It's usually what we do on Fridays when Steve isn't too busy with work. We wanted to get some alone time in because he was heading to Boston on a night train that evening. Then around 2:30am, I woke up to use the bathroom (gotta love the AM bathroom breaks) and started having some painful contractions. I wasn't 100% sure if I was in labor or about to be in labor, but I started panicking because Steve wasn't there and I felt like we were unprepared if this baby girl came this weekend. I mean, I hadn't even packed a hospital bag (not a big deal but still, I like to check things off the list) or washed her new clothes, or just really gotten anything done for her arrival.
Anywho, my mother-in-law came over to keep me company (and calm I might add), I called the OB, and we just waited to see if things would progress. Luckily, it was a false alarm, and despite the fact that I really want to meet my baby girl, I am so glad she did not arrive this past weekend. If anything, this false alarm scare really got me (and Steve) motivated to get some things ready for her ASAP. You're probably wondering, what about those painful contractions? What were those about? Well, I'm embarrassed to say that it was all indigestion due to what I ate at my happy hour date with the hubby. He was feeling it too but in the form of heart burn. But I pinky promise that it really felt like contractions and they were coming in regular intervals too! So confusing but I think I'll have a better handle of it if/when I go into active labor. I hope!
The rest of the weekend was spent chilling with Cora and doing a few things around the house. I did wash baby #2's clothes so they're all ready to go now! We also went on a little shopping date yesterday. I had seen some really cute clothes from H&M for Cora and baby #2, plus I wanted to check out some of their kimono jackets for me, hehe. Cora was being such a good shopper that I figured a cookie break was in order. Truth be told, I really wanted an M&M cookie and aren't the weekends all about indulging?
I'll stop talking now and you can check out a few snaps from the weekend below! You'll definitely want to scroll down because I'm showing two of the newest pieces of Shop Proper Hunt. How was everyone else's weekend?
With my due date fast approaching, the hubby and I have been trying to go on as many day dates as possible. Night dates have become a bit more difficult since that's when I'm most uncomfortable from the weight of my belly. One of our favorite spots is Vin 909 in Eastport. This warm mozzarella salad was the bomb diggity.
This stunning gold tone cuff bracelet is one of the newest pieces added to Shop Proper Hunt.
Another new piece to the shop is this statement-making green cabochon necklace. I'm obsessed with it and it really elevates whatever you're wearing.
Steve was gone this weekend for a conference in Boston so it was just me and this cutie pie. We had a mother-daughter date of shopping and eating cookies yesterday. I'm trying to get my fill of alone time with her before her baby sister arrives.
Sometimes when I browse the explore section of Instagram, I discover new products or images that really inspire me and this was one of them. I fell in love with this piece of artwork by Kayce Hughes. I'm trying to convince Steve that we need this piece in our house. What do you guys think?
