Halloween Weekend

Wednesday, November 02, 2016

Happy November! How was everyone's Halloween weekend? Ours was so jam-packed that I'm still recovering from all of the events and activities we did. It all started off on Friday where we took the girls trick-or-treating at the Annapolis Towne Center. We had never done that before and it was quite the event! There were so many people there and as hectic as it was getting around, it was so much fun! It was a great way for us to start off the weekend on a really fun note.

Then on Saturday, we took the girls to Homestead Gardens' Fall Festival. We hadn't taken them since it opened and it was the last weekend for it, so we made it a point to go and get there early. Well, it turns out we got there really early because we were the only ones there for some time! As you can see in the photos, the girls had a blast with all of the activities they had.

And then on Sunday, we took Cora to Disney on Ice in Baltimore. It was our first time going and I now understand why kids are into it. It was a great experience for all of us and we'll definitely be doing that again soon.

Now, onto Halloween day. The girls had their school's Halloween parade in the morning so that was a fun way to start the day. This was Vivi's first time participating in it and well, she was not sure about it. I was hoping she would walk in it the whole time, but she walked for about two minutes and then demanded that I hold her for the rest of the parade. But we got one good shot of her walking, so that's a win, right?

Every year, our neighborhood (really, it's one of our neighbors who has hosted it and now it has grown into this big party) hosts a Halloween block party before taking the kids trick-or-treating. There are games and activities for the kids, food for everyone, and desserts like you wouldn't believe. Everyone brings something and it's a great way to fill up the kids' bellies with some good food before they go on their sugar high. Okay, I just realized I wrote a bunch and there are so many photos in this post, so I'm going to stop right here so you can see what we did. Enjoy!

This guy was the last of the alpacas to come and see us. I think he was wondering what all the commotion was all about. Then he posed for me.

Face painting time!

Vivi's first time getting her face painted! And she did a great job at sitting still. I think she was confused as to what was going on, but then she saw herself in a mirror and was pretty happy about it.

Sisters.

At the girls' school Halloween parade. This was Vivi's first Halloween parade and she was kind of unsure about the whole thing. Her walking in it lasted all of two minutes.

My little gum ball machine.

When we asked Cora what she wanted to be for Halloween, she said she wanted to be a princess/fairy/butterfly. Luckily for her, I found this dress that had all of the elements that she had requested.

No pictures please!

I think Halloween just might be her favorite holiday...

A bit random, but I cannot stop making these pumpkin muffins and have to share with you guys the recipe. It's by Smitten Kitchen and I have made it 4 times (!!!) in the past month! I'm actually eating one fresh out of the oven as I write this!
